DNI is no longer using the NET test as part of the admission’s process since Educational Resources, Inc. has phased out the NET exam. DNI will use the A2 exam published by Health Education System Inc (HESI).

Applicants must pass the A2 entrance as part of the requirements for admission to the Vocational Nursing program at the Dallas Nursing Institute. The following details govern the
computer-based testing process:

1. Cost: $40.00. It is non-refundable under any circumstance but may be credited toward a subsequent date if
    exam is rescheduled 24 hours in advance.

2. Schedule: The Test is given by appointment only.

     Appointment times are:
     Tuesday at 4:00 pm, Thursday at 8:45 am and Saturdays at 9:00am .

3. Required sections: Math and Reading Comprehension (no calculators permitted). Both sections must be
    completed in the same session.

4. Passing score: 65.00% on math and 65.00% on reading comprehension.

5. Cheating: Students who use a cheat sheet, talk with fellow test-takers, or engage in any suspicious activity
    during the exam will be immediately dismissed and barred from attending DNI.

6. Duration: 2 hours

7. Each applicant will
      a. Provide photo ID and proof of payment.
      b. Complete and return Rules and Regulation sheets.
      c. Turn off cell phones, electronic equipment, other data devices, etc. and place them out of sight.
      d. Receive a printout of results at the end of exam.

8. Retaking the exam:
      a. DNI will charge the $40.00 testing fee for every retake.
      b. Applicants who fail either section must wait 1 month before retaking the failed section.
      c. Applicants who fail both sections must wait 3 months before retaking them.
      d. Applicants who fail one section or both sections on their second attempt must wait 6 months before
          retaking the A2.
      e. Applicants who attempted the NET and passed either the Math or Reading Comprehension will be
          permitted to take the A2 equivalent of the failed section after a 1-month wait from the date of the NET exam.
      f. Applicants who attempted the NET and failed both the Math and Reading Comprehension will be permitted
          to take the A2 equivalent of both sections after a 3-month wait from the date of the NET exam.

Dallas Nursing Institute will not accept A2 scores from an earlier exam taken elsewhere. Dallas Nursing Institute will not provide A2 scores to other schools. DNI will make available at no charge a second copy of the A2 results to applicants requesting one. However, requests for subsequent copies will cost $5.00 each.
